Having the space to examine and understand your thoughts, feelings and behaviours can leave you better equipped to manage whatever is troubling you right now.
You might be thinking that speaking to a stranger will be uncomfortable, but having a space in which you do not fear judgement of reprisal for how you are felling can feel like a breath of fresh air. Unravelling all of this can give you the head-space to think more clearly and react in a way that’s more beneficial to you.
Counselling is great to treat depression and anxiety, to figure out and challenge thoughts surrounding low self-esteem and to empower us step up and make changes in our lives. In essence, at it’s best, counselling can help you live your own life rather than one that doesn’t quite fit.
Our therapeutic space and the relationship that we build together should give you a unique and precious space where you can speak openly without fear of judgement or reprisals. Tuning in to your mind but becoming skilled at working out what’s helpful and what you can let go is like unlocking your own personal freedom.
We might find that looking at the past is too painful and it might be necessary to work in the here-and-now or you might feel that sifting through experiences of the past may be just what you need with a trained professional rooting for you along the way. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all style hence my integrative training, we will tailor our approach to suit you.
